After the Yankee post, I have to tell ya'll that moving here 12 years ago was a task. Listening to all the talk was something else. Now I speak part way like em'. People up north now look at me funny. Here are a few, but give me yours...

Yep,we're fixin' to get right on it.Should be done directly. That means "go on a trip or something for a couple of weeks and your truck might be done when you get back".
Just happened to my buddy from Alaska when he was down. Can't go out shooting cause the garage said the truck would be done."what exactly did they say?" I asked. " Getting right on it,should be done soon" he says. " Oh, you've got a couple of weeks then, " I told him. "Now if they'd said it would be ready in a little while you'd have a month or better."
He didn't believe me until a couple of weeks later when his truck was done. Oh, and 'a little ways down the road'can be anywhere from 2-100 miles depending on how long the word "ways" is drawled out.

It amazes me how many Northeners think I'm a black man when talking on the phone if I'm tired and not watching my diction to closely.
