Shooting Bench Question

I've been eye-balling this great-looking shooting bench but the barrel seems to rest on the forward portion of the rest like this:

Would this cause enough upward pressure on the barrel to cause a change in bullet placement?

Can't see the picture, but you never want the barrel in direct contact with any supporting device when shooting. Have to allow the harmonics to viberate the barrel without restriction to assure consistent POI. Exception to the rule is when a particular rifle needs a pressure point between barrel and stock for best accuracy.

    Keep off the Ridgeline

Thanks Kdub. I hadn't taken the harmonics into consideration. It just didn't make sense to have the barrel resting on anything while shooting but the guy in the pictures that advertise this particular portable shooting bench is doing exactly that.

The pics are in the following auction:

with that shooting style,..I don't have him being the benchrest champ[}:)]

he is indeed setting the barrel on the rest,...that has to make for some "impressive" patterns,....ooops I mean groups.[;)]

If the rest is adjustable,..then I would bet by pulling the foreward notch in or out,..you could set it up for any rifle you have. Not a bad price either.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    idsman,

    Here is the pic.

You had the url as forthehunt.com instead of gunbroker.com and you left of the _1.jpg at the end.
