That's a hard lesson for some, but it is so simple. There is a time to talk and there is a time to shut up. Some people just can't grasp the concept.

Around here it is common to shoot stray dogs on your property. The guy did the same thing that I and many of my neighbors have done. People from town think it is OK to dump their dogs out in the country and take off.
We had a flock of geese about 50 years ago and one morning I was choring and heard dad yelling about dogs killing the geese. I grabbed a gun and dropped three out of about 8 dogs but all the geese were dead or dying. There have been multiple other incidents since then. About two or three years ago my neighbor Phil shot a couple dogs that were in his front yard fighting his own dog. I don't think I have shot any this century so maybe folks have wised up a little.
If you call the sheriff about dogs, he will just tell you to shoot them as they have more important things to worry about.

many years ago we were visiting one of my wife's Uncles in Georgia,
( he has passed on )
he was showing us around the area went on a drive in the mountains .
he told us there's a lot of wild dogs in this area , so if you stop or get out of your car be careful .
no more than five minutes later he pointed to a spot,, and says right over there thats were we let our dogs out of the car and took off a couple months ago, [B)][:0]
really and ya wonder where the wild dog packs came from .
I did not say anything except to my wife later on and smiled . yep watch out fer them dogs and by the way we dumped ours there also

This idiot shot the dogs, not on his property, but over a mile from it. The dogs were not menacing any livestock. The dogs were off their place, but only by a short distance, and on a neighbor's place.

I see a fairly clear-cut case of Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals, 2 counts, a Class A Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum 1-year jail sentence and $4,000 fine, and I predict that the idiot will be successfully prosecuted.

I dearly love dogs, despise people that mistreat them. But dogs gone feral are a danger and there's nothing for it but to put them down. A wild animal with no fear of humans, bad news.

As a youngster I was recruited to go out with my Ruger 10/22 and the adult neighbor and his wife who had a pickup with a spotlight on the roof. Think I was 13. There was a problem with a pack of dogs that had gone feral, were killing pets, poultry and scaring people. So we were to go out at night looking for them. It was a pack of eight or so dogs. There was me and I think at least three other boys. None of us was over 15 years old anyway.

Over several nights of looking we pretty well decimated that feral dog pack. I know I shot three. Don't recall how many the others got but they had either bolt action .22's and one had a .410 bolt action shotgun. We were probably undergunned except for the shotgun. Our neighbor had a .38 revolver, he finished one of them off, otherwise he'd be driving and his wife worked the spotlight.

    Miserable business in the end.

It'd be a big deal if they were your dogs.

They weren't feral, but did belong to a lady who lives less than a quarter mile from where they were shot.

My rule: I will kill an animal that I am going to eat, or an animal that is doing harm, and killing it is the only way to stop it, or an animal that is badly hurt or sick and killing it is the humane thing to do.

This bonehead killed two dogs that weren't his, that weren't bothering stock, and that were nowhere close to his place. Then he bragged about it on Facebook. He needs two consecutive one-year sentences, along with the maximum fine, just for being a *.

I must offer a small correction.

Cruelty To Non-Livestock Animal, P.C. Sec. 42.092 in this instance is a State Jail Felony, not a Class A Misdemeanor.

But killing unborn children is widely accepted and condoned, not to mention, LEGAL.

    This country is MESSED UP!

I've scratched my head many times over this very thing! Rabid animal lovers support any and all abortion but go off the deep end when it comes to animals. Never figuered that one out [8]

Sound like the shooter did not own any cattle. So how could the dogs be attacking his calve in his barn? Something is starting to stink with this story.

Dog owner claims he never had any warning about his 2 labs. Hummmm....

I've never seen a lab chase or attack cattle before, but then again, I'm no expert.

Because we love dogs more than babies? Dunno. Why would you want a kid born to someone that doesn't want it? How is that so hard to understand?

Most people shouldn't have kids OR dogs........
