WHOOP! Got my Welder! Any wire brand suggestions?

Just got my welder in record time! I ordered the Millermatic 252. Ordered it Sunday, arrived today! Got it for $2410, including shipping. Best price I could find anywhere.

SO......I know I'm going to use .035 wire, but does anyone have any *brand* recommendations? It has been 15 years since I ordered supplies for the welding shop, and I cannot remember what brand we liked the best. It is for mild steel, nothing fancy.

Any brand recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks.

I have used just about anything I could get. As long as it's clean, It goes through my machine fine. I assume it's on a bottle.

As long as it ER70, not much else matters.

I bought a spool of 304 SS years ago. I could not afford to buy another 35 lb spool these days.

I would just look around on the web and get anything, as long as it is clean. You talking about flux core??? I buy mine from a local Home Depot and we also have a wire distributor up the street, in the industrial park. I usually buy 5 or ten pound rolls. No more of this one pound, two pound chit. It always seems to run out at the wrong time[xx(]

Mox-Nix-Best is to try different spools. Much depends on the operator.

The local NAPA carries 12 1/2 lb spools of Lincoln wire for less than what Home Depot and a couple of welding suppliers ask for it.

I'll buy the 33 lb roll. I loath changing wire! [:D]

    Thanks for the suggestions.
