Not quite sure if this is what you're talking about but.... I have been looking at some mercury filled slugs that go into your butstock. These things aparently are very effective, I plan on installing them in my guide gun before I start running hot loads through her.Almost forgot, Brownells stocks them.

I think Scott is talkin' about the rubber things that go in an AK-47. They install behind the bolt, at the back of the spring. If this is what yer talkin' about.......I'd like to know if they work also. Good question.

Yes. the little rubber thing. But it's for a pistol. I was told it saves wear on the gun. .Just haven't talked to anyone that has used one. Thanks for the reply

Yeah....Have any of you ever previously experienced what is commonly reffered to as a brain fart? Well this is what happened here. Apparently the computer doesn't want to help either, due to the fact that as soon as I hit the submit button, my DOHHHHHHHH buzzer went off and I could not go back to edit/delete.....oh well * happens:0

I've been using one in my M1A for a year or so and I honestly can't tell you if it's actually helping or not. The plastic buffer does seem to show some wear, so maybe it is preventing damage...

Bill Wilson makes 'em for the 1911A1, and he's forgotten more about guns than most of the rest of us will ever know. I use them, they get chewed up, so I assume they are doing something. They do use up a little slide travel, tho, and I have heard that if you are going into a "hot" situation, you may want to leave them out for that little added bit of reliablility.
