Funny Shot-Up Signs In Arkansas

Back when Slick Willy was in the White House, there were big signs on every highway going into Arkansas, that read, "Welcome to Arkansas, Home Of President Bill Clinton." I saw a lot of these, and on the smaller two-lane roads, all these smaller signs were riddled with bullet holes. The big signs on the Interstates seemed to be fairly immune to the gunfire, but on the secondary roads, some of the signs were shot so much as to be unreadable.

I noticed on our trip that those signs are not there anymore. Just, "Welcome to Arkansas, the Natural State," on the Mississippi River bridge. No one shot this one.

Further south, on Interstate 30, at the Hope city limits, there was a big sign, "Welcome to Hope, Home of President Bill Clinton." This sign was SHOT FULL OF HOLES.

Although shooting signs is a crime, I could not help but chuckle a bit.

Is it against guidelines to state "too bad it wasn't him and his femi-nazi partner instead of the signs"?

I only ever shot up one sign in my life. It was one put up by an idiot neighbor on the public right-of-way stating that this was private property (it was not) and that trespassers would be shot on sight.

One day, that sign just got to me, so I stopped the truck, got out the shotgun, and proceeded to shoot that sign, a whole sheet of plywood, to splinters. It took most of a box of shells.

Oh, yeah, that was in Arkansas, too, but when Slick was still not inhaling.

My only objection would be attributed to the obvious safety issue. Now, some spray paint and a little imagination . . . .

Passed through his hometown once early in his term -- pickup in front of me was covered with anti-Clinton bumper stickers.

"You can fool some of the people some of the time. . . "

    They're both proof of that!
