I can't believe that this crowd is so fussie over some issues. Some things like God, Confederate Flags, Jennings firearms, and other controversial subjects get beat to death like someone is actually going to see your point of view and change their mind. Truth is, the more you fuss the more folks are going to rebel; Human nature I believe. If you don't like something don't ask Nunn to poof it or tell everyone it should be banned, cause then you sound like a bunch of dang liberals. Sometimes I wonder if we ain't got a few here.

Although I do skip over some subjects such as religion. I just think I should keep that to my self because I'm not a Preacher.

And joking about the Jennings pistols is just plain fun! The best thread was some time back, from somebody claiming to have put 5,000 rounds through one in one day at the range.

Perhaps... Any-who, Some subjects are like sex, just aren't worth bringing up in mixed co. Hard to argue physics with "Bubba" Bubba don't care, let alone read. I find the subject matter of ailliens is another. And how about the "Pallestinian and Jeruselum" issue?
I hear ya, just thought I'd chyme in to see what happens to me!

Hey, everybody, have a great 4th of July, and I mean that part seriously. I hear a few fireworks outside. Stay safe. And leave the shooting into the air to the cave dwellers this year, eh? Those rounds have to come down someplace.

For many, a place like this is the last best hope for acceptability, for being seen as an equal, for getting a fresh start. We are all strangers who do not pass in the night, but, reciprocally, bump into each other, step on each other's toes, invade space and worst of all, point out weaknesses. As such, we sincerely try to be on our best behavior, raising the alarm when issues like race, religion, gender and the relative worth of a .223 come up so as not to seen as crass, crude or boorish (or heaven forbid, ignorant). But are we sincere?
A persons race is not of his or her choosing. But it certainly dictates whether certain opportunities are offered or even made available. This tends to drive like groups together with the predictable results. Lack of diversity allows right by might to succeed, the strong or vicious dominate. It follows then that just the color of a person's skin assigns them to the group along with all the attendant attributes, regardless of that person's personal merit. The exact same thing applies to religion, gender .
When we meet here, we cannot be assigned to a group. We can be what we want to be. It enhances our true self, (a bad thing, as Bill Cosby said, if you are basically an azzhole). So the PC thing is a subterfuge, designed to make us look like we'd want people to think we look. We are here because we need to be here. And the stronger the need, the more attentive we are to reading and posting (that tells us something about the 5 star thing, doesn't it?). We allow others to see as much of our true selves as they need to see to respond to us. And again, the stronger the need, the more information we will divulge. Convergent with that exposure comes the opportunity for exploitation and so the constant search for the balance to satisfy our need to be recognized and at the same time protect our privacy.
Ain't life grand?

As for the stars, maybe some of us just read and type REALLY fast....

No degree, but I went to a damn good high school. Had teachers who were actually engaged in their profession. Since then I have read a lot, about everything imaginable.
