When you close your eyes do you see black or ???

I was recently talking with some people and this subject came up. When you close your eyes do you see only black? Or do you see bright spots, colors, and/or patterns or? Those on drugs need not reply.

If I knew then, what I know now.

Sometimes just black. Black is always predominant, but sometimes it is tinted red with an interlocking hex pattern. Sometimes it is red with splotches. Honest.

Eyelids don't block out a hundred percent of light -- it's just thin skin, after all. So you'll probably see more than, say, if you were deep in Mammoth Cave and the lights went out. Question, do you see "floaters" with your eyes open? I notice them sometimes, that little gunk that floats around lazily in your tears.

I only see "floaters" when looking at a bright blue or white background like the sky.

At night when my eyes are closed, it's a black background with large shapeless green splotches moving around slowly.

Sometimes, if I stand up too quickly, I get all dizzy and when I close my eyes I see rapid flashes! Wow, what a headrush!

I always wondered about those damn floaters...looks like something you see through a microscope. read about them a few weeks back.

I see all kinds of stuff when I close my eyes. Usually a black background with stars, shapes, lines, patterns floating all over. Lately I have been seeing the devils face moving towards me saying, "Burn in Hell you Liberal *". My therapist says it should go away in a few days, hopefully and if not he my have to increase my tranquilizers and anti psychotics. If that doesn't work them it's more shock treatment and boy wills I see stuff with my eyes closed them. I wonder if this is why I can't get to sleep at night.

i see rings of white that start in the middle and go to the bottom and top then start in the middle again
