Yugo SKS's

Anybody got the dope on the new Yugoslave SKS's with the blade bayonets and grenade launchers that are comming in now? They're pretty cheap here in Arizona and I thought I'd get one. I'm told they don't have the chrome plated bores but that's ok if they shoot good. I used to have a couple of Norincoes that shot 3-4" grps with surplus ammo. Will these Yugos do that?

I just read Yugo SKS's don't have chrome lined barrels. Ok all you gun nuts, tell me about chrome lined barrels...How long will they hold up to russian ammo? I read the Yugo's used some other ammo concoction to get away from using the chrome lining.

    Thanks!

The Yugo's that I've handled specifically don't have a chrome lined bore. In fact several of the ones I've looked at have the worst bores of any of the SKS's I've handled over the last 16 years. I can't speak as to the accuracy, but a rough bore will usually not perform too well in that department.

Yes they all have brown bores. They are excellent shooters. Milled and forged they are an exceptional value for the money. I was selling them in the $169.00 to 199.00 range, I am sure you can probably still score one at that price on G.B. Good luck !!

I see Yugo SKS's at gunshows for $350 and up,which absolutely amazes me that anyone would be so foolish to lay out that kind of Dough Ray Me for a $150 rifle.

Josey is right.I can't understand why people are paying that kind of money these things! These are guns that you should be able to buy cheap,
and then "Frankenstein" them,if you want.

I usually go to my gun dealer. His prices are better than any gun show and the guns are better quality. All numbers must match and the gun must be at least 80%.

All local store prices I've seen here for these rifles are $179. to $210. J&G Sales in Prescott sells them for $129.+S&H ($150.&chg. plus your local FFL's fee) . These all appear to be new or nearly new rifles that I've seen in Tucson. Don't know about J&G's stock but they're probably from the same supplier.
