Are You a Show Off??

Now I must admit I am a bit!
Had a friend at work who had aquired a Remington semi-auto in 30-06. Topped it off with a very nice scope, name brand. Anyway he wanted to go shooting with me. He said he had it zeroed in at 2oo yards! I have a place that I shoot at almost every weekend and the range is basically as far as you can see!
Now I own and shoot an original Remington rolling block in 45-70,owned for over 10 years now, has a 30 inch barrel and MVA sights on it. This has been the only rifle I use for the majority of my shooting, Always loaded with Black Powder!!
I have used this rifle on praire dogs, coyote, deer and elk, and took my first pronghorn with this rifle!
Anyway we met a few weeks ago and did a lot of shooting, mainly at targets (milk jugs filled with water painted pink) set at known distances. Anywhere from 100 to 600 yards. He had more misses than hits! Maybe 2 hits out of 5 targets! Now my ratio was alot better 4 out of 5. even at 600 yards I could hit my targets, open sights and black powder! However he missed all shots at this distance! Even targets set at 200 yards were missed with his rifle.
I asked if I could try a few rounds with his rifle, go ahead he said!
Being used to open sights, I must admit the scope seemed awkward to me! But was able to hit all three jugs set at 200 yards!
Unfortunatly my friend was quite perplexed and mad!! Then he decided to have an informal shooting match at unknown distances! We picked out targets like cans and such to shoot and called our shots! Unfortunatly he lost badly! I did quite well! This however only made him madder! I tryed to explain to him that I have been shooting since I was 6 years old. And that I have been shooting my RB for 10 years with a load that works well for me! As compared to his once every year take it to the range and shoot experiance, with factory loaded ammo. He just could not believe I could take a rifle that was over 120+ years old and using period style ammo and sights out shoot his "high Tech" rifle! I even tried to explain that even with his scope set at 200 it will be higher or lower at different distances. and that with practice he could keep it set at 200 and still be able to hit at longer ranges!
Needless to say he hardly ever talks to me now! Even thought I have tried to make mends. Maybe I should have missed a lot more!
Just not my style!!
I admit I am a show off when I have my RB with me!
Of course I can play the piano, as long as it has pedals!
