Zero tolerance weapons policies at schools

We've all cringed at the silly things that have happened since most schools adopted the 'zero tolerance' policy about weapons at schools. We've heard about students being suspended, even expelled, for having things such as a table knife in their car, a GI Joe toy gun, or even a key fob with a chain. Here's a story that makes sense, for a change.
Last Thursday, a 4th grader was caught with a BB pistol at school. The student was suspended while the authorities investigated. It was learned the BB pistol was not loaded, and was inoperable.
The student goes back to school on Monday, with no punishment!
I'm glad to say my local school system here in Hall Co., GA, has people that actually use their brains and think !!

How long does it take to check?
Get the job done and come home safe guys.
I rush in where others flee.
