For the past several weeks my internal voice has been telling me that I need to pick up AMAP of this surplus ammo. I do not understand where this is comming from but it is there. Can anybody tell me where I can get some of this ammo relatively cheap? and If I order if online what would be considered normal shipping charges?

I picked up a case of 762x54 from AIM for cheaper than anyone, I drove there to pick it up. Only a couple hour drive and I stopped and say the Superformance distribution center in Ross, OH.
I buy most of my ammo from Sportsman's Guide. For 7.62x39 is best to get on their back order list and wait.
Also be sure to use the coupons:

The coupons will save you shipping.
I'm sitting on about $6k on 7.62x39 but I like to shoot 300rds every couple of weeks.
Also have about 1.5 to 2k of 7.62x51. I really need more.
I find Walmart to have the best deals on handgun FMJ ammo. I've been buying a 100rd pack of WWB 45acp every couple of weeks -- $20. Can't beat that price.
Thanks for the information. Where do you get coupons from Sportsmans guide?
Hit the link. When you go to check out (if you order online) there will be a section to type iin the coupon code. If you phone in your order, make sure you mention the coupon code #.
As said before, www.aimsurplus.com usually has some deals on 7.62x51, 54, & 8mm.
I thougth I saw some deals on 8mm at
www.classicarms.us
drobs What would you currently consider a deal? The lowest that I found for 8mm is 79.97 through Sportsmans guide. This includes 20 dollars in shipping.
If that is for a 1000rds that seems good to me.
This doesn't seem that bad. 760rds for $59.95 (1970's)

This is even better: 900rds for $59.97 (1950's)

I would treat both of these as corrosive. Then again I just don't trust 8mm to be non-corrosive.
It is corrosive but who cares at that price.
