Resident Evil 9mm

Got a DVD player for the computer and was playing around with the movie Resident Evil. I was going frame by frame where she was shooting the zombie dogs and you can see the blanks in the action. I Thought that blanks would not cycle though.

Strangely, video games don't seem to be restricted by the limitations of the real world. Go figure...

Blanks will function a normal semiautomatic gun as long as enough gas is restricted.Enough restriction to let the huge flame out but still enough held in to cycle the gun.

You raise a good question. When they were filming Sgt. York with Gary Cooper they wanted to show him shooting a squad of Germans using the .45 Colt semi-auto. It would not cycle with blanks. They found that the Luger would cycle with blanks. So they had York shooting an enemy 9mm, I think they had him "capturing" it from a dead German officer.
