Take your time, frequent rests and just get the job done.
Those guys make great money and I'd take the job in a NY second!!
Scaredy-cats...nothing to worry about, you wear a safety helmet...[^]
other than that, that video makes me want to vomit. if i was tied into a harness, i'd climb to the moon. no safety, no way.
The coroner would need a bigger spatula though.
It scares the hell out of me just watching the video![:0]
The day after the climb is a killer. I never climbed one that high, and I was sore for a week.
Of course whether or not it would be able to open properly while he is falling next to a tower might be an entirely different matter.[}:)]
Nothing like the good old days. Riding the head ache ball on a crane with the operator giving you the scenic tour swinging in the air above the job and then free falling you a couple of hundred feet before hitting the brakes. Of course OSHA/safety made that illegal now days.
Swinging from a basket on a crane a couple hundred feet up was fun, too. If the crane operator was having a bad day or just didn't like you, it could get pretty hairy.
I have jumped out of airplanes, and I have flown hang gliders off the mountains many times. Didn't bother me being 1,500 feet above the ground in a hang glider.
Somehow climbing is different, I can't stand to be more than 20 feet high if I am climbing and don't even like to take an elevator up in a tall building.
Those guys climbing that tower have got some guts.
