Another boring story

May be my last.
Show up to work this morning. Couple dogs running around the parking lot. Little black one, and a golden retriever cross. Animal control shows up. Now, he is being real gentle like, and giving them treats, trying to get them into his vehicle. The golden, is having little to do with this, other than taking the treats at a distance. About 45 minutes later, the canine unit pulls up. No luck, either. Now, they are being real gentle, and real humane with these dogs, which is a good thing. They are obviously somebodies pets, and well cared for. Just don't need to get hit by a car, on a fairly busy street.
Anyway, after watching this for about an hour and a half, I walk over, and tell the fella, let me try. Dogs like me. And they do. He says, no, you might get bit. I say, that dog isn't going to bite me. I sit down, and start talking to him. Ten seconds later, he is in my lap, and I am still talking to him, and petting him. telling him what a good boy he is. I reach back, and ask for a leash, which is handed to me. I slip it around his neck, still talking to him. I get up, and one of them says lets toss him in the truck. I say no, just get ahold of his buddy so as he don't run off. Pat the tailgate a couple times, and he jumps right in.
One of them says, I can't f***ing believe this. I says, I told you, dogs like me.
True story. Dogs, babies, and Jesus love me. Women? Not so much.
Peace, and see y'all later,
Dan

Thanks !!!
I Grew Old Too Fast (And Smart Too damn Slow !!!) !!! :?
That made me smile.
Have a great day
Mule
I am glad to hear the Dog Catcher was being gentel with the dogs.
Dogs like me too I think it could be because I have 3 dogs so I guess I smell kind of like a dog[:D]
I hope they find the owners of the dogs, maybe they were micro chipped or had a collar with their home address and number on it. All my dogs have both, they have never run away but they have wandered for a while. The good thing is I live in the country and everyone around me knows my dogs and calls me if they are out "visiting".
Dogs like me too ............. evidently, I taste good. [:D]
It's true. You can't stay angry with them.

As for the part about that being your last story, I think I speak for all of us when I say that it would be a cryin' shame if you quit sharing stories like this with us. I always enjoy your posts, all of 'em!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Well done sir.
Several years ago my neighbor Patty told me "There is a stray hound dog running around down at the bottom of the drive way. I tried to catch him but could not. Maybe you could catch him and take him to the pound.
So I went down there and caught the dog, he just jumped up into my truck. I guess he didn't like women.
And took him to the pound. The lady said "We will keep him for at least 30 days. We will give him his shots and if the owner doesn't show up, put him up for adoption."
So I thought I had really done the world a favor.
I went back to the pound 4 days later to check up on the dog.
The guy told me "We killed that dog yesterday. Nobody wants to adopt an 80 pound hound dog."
So I have about given up on rescuing dogs, not counting the strays that I take in for a pet, which includes 3 dogs and 3 cats, life turned out very well for those 6 animals.
