Go ahead and order a good BC dry chemical fire extinguisher ( NOT ABC, BC) while yer at it. Those things have set more decks and porches ablaze that you would believe.
Them "fryers" are great at burning down residents.....we have 3 or 4 a year around here..."I never know the oil would boil and come over the edge and engage the flame"....famous last words...idiots

That's a $25 POT!!
Pot hell, the regulator and thermometer would run that much.
I'm hip!!
That pot, would make a great stock/sauce pot too,if it has a nice thick bottom on it.(which it prob doesn't)
Did the add say Alum.pot or Stainless?
NM,,, It's Alum...

There won't be any fire, as long as you used a thawed turkey and turn the gas OFF before putting the bird in.[;)]
But that's the problem Matt, most of your average rookie cookies out there, don't have the COMMON Sense ,or foresight to do that...They take an ice cold, drippin wet bird, lower it into 370* peanut oil and the second the "popes'nose" touches oil, they get splattered a little and JUST DROP IT!!
I noticed the valve has a "timer" on it? That's something new. I havn't seen that before.Takes 2 A batteries... Wonder how that works and if the burner/reg. will function w/no batt.
I'm thinkin I should buy that kit, just to have it..[:I]

Don't U forget who is paddling this canoe now matey!![8D]
Canoe? I'd rather have a 14' deep-v and a 15hp Evinrude.[:D][:p][^]
I had that exact boat a couple years ago. Great little rig!
I had always been told not to use aluminum, stainless steel only.
In fact, what a coincidence, here at 3:52 am I am drinking a homemade stout brewed in an expensive stainless steel pot.
But I just looked it up, looks like aluminum is just as good as, and maybe better than, stainless.

Get the one with the spigot in the side.
helps to act more like a real lauter tun. still have to make a screen on the bottom.
I may order another one of these, one to use as a hot liquor tank and the other for a Lauter Tun with a false bottom and stainless spigot/valve.
I do Mini Mashes now and between the two pots I have already, I hit my Original Gravity every time.
