FYI, another straw in the camels back!

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/fort-mead-nsa-attack-one-5428993

One person has died and two people are injured after a vehicle rammed into the gate at the headquarters for the National Security Agency (NSA).

Shots were fired following the incident, and authorities say an officer who was involved at either the crash or the shooting is one of the people injured.

The NSA is the United States intelligence agency responsible for global monitoring, collection, decoding, translation and analysis of information and data for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence purposes.

The NSA is also charged with protection of US government communications and information systems against hackers.

U.S. law enforcement officials also tell CBS News that cocaine and a weapon were found in or near the vehicle, and that investigators believe the people in the car were men dressed as women.

    Not straw, bullets.

Not camels, two men disguised as women.

Don't know if bad guys were wounded in the back like that proverbial camel. Does sound like the guard put the bullets where needed to be.

True that the NSA's campus is on Ft. Meade, but it's not located entirely within the post.

It can be accessed directly from non-military property.

Actually, there are several "gates" at NSA. It's easy to accidentally take the NSA exit from a couple of major roads, & find that you have nowhere to go but a gate. The guards will quickly turn you around & direct you back to the way you came.

Cocaine involved? Ya think? No sober person would think of crashing a gate there. Nothing awaits you other than Marine guards with machine guns & German Shepherds trained to keep biting until you stop moving. Cause Of Death for the guy shot will likely be "terminal stupidity".

NSA is a huge operation, with thousands of employees. Yet, when we really need intel:

---- WTC bombing - "ooops, we missed that"
---- Khobar Towers - "oooops, we missed that one, too"
---- Nairobi embassy - "that one got by us"
    ---- 9/11 plane hijackings - "can't get 'em all"
---- Benghazi consulate - "no one told us"

Never confuse activity with work accomplished.

    When did they reactivate?

The pics seem to indicate they were rammed nearly head on, in an off set collision by a Police Expedition prior to the shooting.

Media keeps saying they 'rammed the gate', but nothing I'm seeing in pics/video of the scene indicates this.

Damage to the bad guy vehicle is confined to the forward part of the passenger side, the cop vehicle shows damage only on the front right and based on debris it appears impact occurred over on an exit road that runs alongside the entry gate.

I'd say they tried to bypass the gate by driving the wrong way up the exit and got rammed for their effort.

It will be interesting to hear any determination of motive in this thing. Whatever they were up to, important thing is they were stopped. Hope to hear the guard will not have a severe or debilitating injury to contend with.

A similar gate shooting took place at Luke AFB just over 5 years ago. Two car thieves attempted a late night run into the base. Guards confronted them and quickly stopped them with rifle fire. One DRT Bad Guy, one wounded.

This is how it should be. Try to bust into a military base, ought to get you the same body modifications as you deserve in a home invasion.

Thanks for playing, your cheap cardboard coffin will ready on Tuesday.....

I stand corrected about the Marine guards; it's been many years since I have been there. But, I am still confident that forcible attempts to enter will be discouraged with extreme prejudice.

What the heck does 'alluding' an officer mean' and how do you commit this crime?

(I'm picturing something like whispering "that cops dirty")

Ya think they were trying to say 'eluding'?

I was an MP on Fort Meade back in 76-77, and some of my closest friends were some of the Marine MP Guards at NSA.

We used to have a full contact Football league back then, and I played Safety for the 519th MP BN team.

At night when on duty we used to go eat at the Four Hats Mess Hall on NSA. It was the best mess I ever ate at while in the service...[:p]

I used to work with some of the NSA Guards as a Bouncer part time at the Triple Deuce club just outside of the back gate.

I recall asking one of them how many levels deep was the main NSA building back then?, and he told me that it was deeper then it was tall! He also told me that there was equipment inside there that could zero in on your car traveling on I-81 within 100 miles and hear everything said inside the car. I recall saying that that didn't bode well for the Russian Embassy in DC which was only about 40 miles away, he just smiled...[^]

I think it was a couple of doped up drag queens who made a wrong turn, and who found themselves in the middle of a nightmare. Cops found a gun in the car, yet the "ladies" did not shoot at the police with the gun.
