My New Guns

I earned some extra $ this summer and I had compiled a short list of firearms that I wanted to add to my collection. I have nothing in the .30 cal rifle category (my collection is very small), so I was looking at several possibilities there, bolt and semi. I have no lever guns and I have a hankering for a Marlin Guide model. I could use a nice moderately priced target .22 rifle and/or pistol. The Ruger Blackhawk Convertible caught my eye. And I still don't have an AK type rifle. So many to choose from.

I talked it over with my wife, and we decided on the following three: DPSB5196BWW, WHSB8000BWW, and PDW7300G. Before you start trying to look those up in your gun catalog, try the GE major appliance catalog instead.

Check the GE website i think there is a "rebate page" on two of those, that they are not telling you about at the stores. i got a washer and dryer 2 months ago and store gave us paperwork for $25.00 rebate, when reading instruction to send for rebate there was a web address,(can't find in in my history!dang it). when i went there i found and extra rebate on the washer for $75.00( total now up to $100.00 for that one) and a extra $35.00 for dryer( total up to $60.00 on that one). boy was i happy, lol. i also sent in to the gas company for a one time rebate on the dryer, they will review the make, model etc, and credit my bill if it is on there list. my neighbor got same model and got $45.00 credit on his gas bill!

"Loose lips sink ships!" There are some things best left undiscussed. I darn sure would have salvaged something out of the deal!

University50, thanks! I'll check it out.

Iconoclast, there's gonna be a gun in there somewhere once the dust settles, but it looks like only one and not a real expensive one. Maybe if I get those rebates...

    Blade,
I am lucky, in our household, once the bills are paid, and some is put away in savings, any extra earned is the property of the spouse that earned it. I take on alot of extra hours when possible, and she teaches summer school. That gives each of us some extra. Sorry for your loss.

Years ago I bought a Springfield 1903A3 (Smith Corona) and two M1 carbines (Underwood, Postal Meter) on the same day at a gun show. I told my wife about the purchases, of course, but did not elaborate. To this day she thinks I bought business supplies.

    Just a suggestion.
