60 Minutes

Did anyone see the Rep. Dan Burton vs. Th FBI last night. Pretty frightening that that happens in this country. It made me deceide not to purchase a Walther on GB but buy the same NIB piece from a friend. Person to person purchase has no paperwork required in Indiana.

If you didn't happen to listen to 60 Minutes this evening I'm attaching a clip that was very interesting about the upcoming election (YEP, everyone is tired of all the political 'crap' flying around on TV and Facebook and heck, just everywhere). Watch if you want, don't watch if you don't want BUT I think you will see how people feel about this upcoming election.
Watch the reactions of the people on this panel and it will tell you that people in this country are NOT the people we use to be.

Obozo on right now. Is there a truth meter available? ... and the B.S. continues. I can't wonder how many executive pardons will be given in the next 2 years. Can we spell Holder et all to start?

Florida also does not cover person to person gun sales,
I never go to a dealer here in florida, you can even buy them at flea mkts in some counties here, Which I dont know if its right or wrong, Some of the people dont care who they sell to, just so they sell,
I personaly will not sell you a gun unless you have a Florida drivers license or a carry permit. be it a private deal or what.

A fellow from NJ, I believe, was in prison for 30 years on a murder rap. He was fingered by a FBI informant (a hitman with many murders to his credit). The whole thing was bogus and when the statute ran out for public disclosure of FBI evidence, it became apparent that everyone up to and including Hoover was fully aware that they had an innocient man behind bars. I hope they repeat this on later this summer. Everything I own (mostly GB auction buys) has gone through a local dealer. Sure, BATF isn't suppose to keep records of purchases, but I don't trust anyone anymore! This Walther will be my first buy with no paper trail.

Yeah, I saw it. Absolutely disgusting to think our government would do such a thing. Too damn bad Hoover's dead, I'd love to see him explain his actions to Congress.

What's really disturbing is that this isn't an isolated incident. Cops and prosecuters hide evidence or fabricate evidence all the time just to close-out the case. So long as they have a warm body in the cell and a "W" in the win column, that's all they care about. Doesn't matter to them if the guy was really guilty or not.

cbxjeff - the person that you speak of is Joseph Selveti. He spent 30 years behind bars. The FBI knew he was inocent when they framed him. Picked him out for his size and dicription. If you remember the fire storm just before the execution of Tim McViegh about holding back evedence, that is when they released him because everyone was all fired up about them having a new trial for him. Also thats when the released the fact that the fire at Waco was started by the ATF. Makes you feel proud, din't it?

Here is one thing that scares me. I lived in NY for 18 months and had a CCW in NY. Sometime in 2001 NY passed a law that required a test-fired shell to be submitted with all new guns coming into the state (and handguns can only come into the state via an FFL in NY). Now we have ballistic fingerprinting. NY requires that all handguns are listed by make/model/serial# on the permit and your address is also listed on the permit. You can only store the handguns at your residence. Nobody else can possess them or store them for you. Now they know who has what guns and where they are stored and copies of this are kept at the county level. What is to prevent a "jack-booted thug" from showing up at a range that you frequent and wait for you to miss a piece of brass that is ejected from your gun? Jack-booted thug then picks up that piece of brass and drops it at a murder scene. Ballistic fingerprinting traces the shell back to your gun and you get a knock on your door and are given a pretty pair of silver bracelets and an escort to the Big House Hotel & Resort.

YC, I thank you for the post, but I hate to be reminded of this. This isn't suppose to happen to us! As I said earlier, I just don't trust anyone anymore. My thoughts of the direction of the country has changed so much in the last 10 years. Times, I wish that I didn't have 2 sons. As Buddy said "it just wouldn't matter any more".

OK, id75, what do we do? I'm not a paranoid guy (unless you talk to my wife) but this gets back to my original post. Everything I have is probably known to the BATF. No mater what they say how their records are recorded. I guess that I am lucky in that we still have paperless private transfers. NY is a lost cause. Elections? I just don't have much hope anymore. Man, am I getting bummed!

Thanks to the powers that be we in Ind. no longer have a transfer record for individual sales. When they did this, I told some friends to wait because they would use it against us later. Well, here it is later. Just another way for big brother to back door the good guys.
I go to auctions. If you watch estate auctions and they only list one or two guns, you can get a bargain. No paperwork there either.

I didn't see it. Was Burton taking a pro gun approach?

Lowrider, it would be great if we could bring Hoover back to testify under oath before Congress. Do you think he would wear a "pretty in pink" dress like Hillary did to distract attention?

There is currently new technology being developed that will work quite nicely against the armed citizen if its sister-technology (smart gun) is ever mandated by law. This new technology will allow police to remotely shut down your automobile which would be used to stop high-speed pursuits if they ever pass a law mandating that this be installed in your automobile. It will be hailed as a success after the liberal media gets first-hand fly-over footage of a successful use of this technology.

How does this apply to gun owners you may ask? Let me tell you. If smart-gun technology is ever passed into law mandating that all guns be outfitted with it then how difficult would it be for the government to incorporate a form of technology similar to the automobile shut-down device? They will hail it as a means to shut down all weapons in a home prior to a SWAT raid or something of that nature. If the 2nd Ammendment still exists in a few hundred years and all guns without the smart-gun technology are worn out by then, all guns currently in circulation could be shut down remotely by the JBT's.

Now, do I get a pat on the back Judge Dread? You were certainly the inspiration for this post.
