Is it just me or is this a super buy? 1995 Toyota 4WD 4 Runner Limited, 76,000 miles, loaded, pwr windows, locks, sunroof, cruise, tilt, am/fm/cass/cd, roof rack, running boards, bug shield, window visors, leather, towing package, v6 engine, purrs like a kitten for $5300. Guy was asking 5800 originally. I looked it up in the NADA and Kelly Blue Book, low retail was @7000, average retail @8000 and high was @9000. [:)]

The only bad thing is that parts are a killer. Other then that it sounds pretty good.

Huh?[?] How do ya figure. Parts for Toyotas are no harder (read really easy) to get than anything else. Dealers are virtually everywhere and there are several aftermarket mail-order companies. Performance Products even has a Toyota only catalog. Get it, it is a great deal, assuming ofcourse there are no hidden defects.

And make sure it hasn't gone through a flood or something similar. other than that.... You might have stumbled into a good deal.

4 God and Country: Great deal. Have a '95 Forerunner with only 35,000
miles on it. Great vehicle. No repairs yet since buying new. Had about 15 4X4S prior. You name it, I had it since 1950. Best combination vehicle yet. Only bad feature is gas mileage is not too good. But as you can see I dont put a lot of mileage on it. On local
driving it is only about 14 mbg. Trips, much better. Had to have new tires installed as I was afraid of dry rot, not tread wear.

Watch out for the V6 engines in that range. I believe it was from 84-9? that they had head gasket problems. It wasn't a matter of if ,but when and how much damage it would cause. I reactivated some in ground lifts at a shop that a Toyota dealer rented just to do the 4 Runners. He had 70 in the lot to do everything from head gaskets to new engines. This was just one dearlership ,and he told us there were many more like him. So find out if the gaskets have been done yet. They would blow as early as 34,000 miles.

A friend had his 4runner stolen. They didn't get far before the gaskets blew.

The title is not a salvage title or rebuild. As for the head gasket problems, I never heard of this before and I sold Toyotas from about 1989-1994. It is now sitting in my drive.[:D]

I took it for a long drive before making my final decision and its a cream puff. I plan on going to the farm this weekend and I'll give the 4WD a little more action.

I hope it works out well for you. Stripper is right about the head gasket problem, though. I'm pretty sure there was a recall on the head gaskets on the 95's -- not on all of them, but on a lot of them. I think you can tell if yours is under the recall (or at least was) by the VIN #. I was looking at a similar '95 lately, and some of the other negative comments were that the V6 lacks power and guzzles the gas for the amount of power it puts out. Lots of good points about it too, though. If you want to read other owners reviews on it, check out this link:

I Hope you enjoy the new truck. It sounds real nice.

If you want a 4-runner, get 98 or newer. The earlier ones have lots of front end and motor issues, plus the 3.0l is anemic. My advise, get a Durango or Trailblazer. Won't be $5300, but these can get out of their own way. Besides, it's always better to buy American (make sure the 1st vin digit is a "1" for U.S. manufacture)

    Bsally-
Go to a Toyota dealership & ask for a mudflap (replacement) sometime.
$65 out the door & you put it on.
If that ain't a ripoff I'll eat my Toyota (which I love, BTW.

Just got off the phone with Toyota, asked about the head gasket recall and gave him my vin#. He told me I was good to go and that only certain vehicles were effected.
