After reading Evil's post, it got me interested in joining.
Does anyone know of any reputable Militia groups in Southwest Houston area? I would like to join one that is interested in supporting and improving the community, not just conducting military exercises and range trips (although I was interested in those too). Can someone recommend one? If not, how does one go about starting one?

Find a group of like minded people. Not Klan type people, but those interested in helping out in times of need.
Nix anti-government people, but allow those who will stand up to anti-constitutional government.
When the group is formed, try to find things in your town to help out with. This will give you a good reputation and will cause you to find people in the city government who will tend to see you as a helpful group.

    Hey Dread,

Are you a militia member or a one man show? Either way at what point do you go "active" and start killing people? And, who will you start with? Just curious.

    Dread,
    You misquoted it. It goes...
"Good... Bad... I'm the guy with the gun."

You can get a group of friends, and have organized regular meetings, trips to the range, and do community service. Start you own little militia. A club, a militia, whatever you want to call it.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Ask Byron Peck (W.A.S.S.) who I am ...I was there in 1983....
Throwing cats out of the Seatle bridge and building a machine to cure cancer (Betatron).

I train people... my prior "service" YAF,Delta,Fairfax,SIOC,ACIO,ITT & others ,if I coment you the next question I have 2 options "reclute or erase" .

But on serious matters killing is the last resource in any war, for a war to be declared ,first all the democratic and legal resources must be exausted and all human effort to be tried before such a road is taken ,once taken there is no road back is a choice made with the divine right to self-defense and liverty.

In this I agree with others even knowing is a try at futility with the intent of peacefull democratic right ,the vote, community education, legislation, courts , radio TV.

But I do keed my swords ready..... History is repeating itself
    first was Germany 1930-1940 Now US 1999 -2024 .

And for the record ... I do have combat experience ,single ,in group, as a commander, as a soldier, agent, and LEO.

When it comes to combat and killing no matter the reason ,that enemy you kill is also a part of you that remains unforgotten for the rest off your life , a guy just like you ,maybe with a wife kids and a nice house ,were he may never return to, just for the reason of being in the "wrong side" . 1 or 32,000. is the same....(I lost count)quite a few years ago...

    (Better them than me )

I am well aware of that, that is the base of my statement ,so a lot of choices have to be made ...poor of the ones that make the wrong ones or choose the wrong side .I just become a tool of Karma ,fast ,no remorse, no prisioners, no survivors.

Just for the sake of others that deserve to be free.....
    (Me included).

An interesting response Mr. Dread. I respect your position. You are correct to say that history is repeating itself. Or maybe it's more correct to say that it's following a trend. The trend is "the ones with the power tend to want more over those who have less power." The Constitution as great a document as it is, is still only a few pieces of paper. It can not defend itself. It is subject to the whims of the court and to a lesser degree to the ever changing "public opinion." I strongly believe in defending the Constitution with whatever legal means are available. But, flippant comments about "bringing our current government to ashes" are not only untimely but damaging to our credibility. It makes it sound like if we, the gun owning 2nd amendment supporting public can't get "our way" in the polling booth we'll just take matters into our own hands. In our history lessons let's not forget the United States in 1860. That year our country split over a Constitutional debate. And the validity of the argument was invalidated by the rash actions of a few hotheads. Understand me. I believe whole heartedly in an armed citizenry and the deterent it represents to an oppressive government. But I too believe that it has become unreasonable to expect such a militia to prevail in the face of not only modern war technology but also and increasingly disinterested public.

    respectfully submitted

The first technology militias must learn is how the populance (The herd)is manipulated by the (cowboys) .. http://www.ou-research.com

So they can begin to "deprogram" the population subjected to it.

Mystery: Why is Mr. Dread answering questions asked to LTS? Am I missing something here?

By the way, you can go to church and learn to turn the other cheek, or you can shoot back. The tricky part is learning to reconcile both. I'm not one of those who believes Jesus told the disciple to put down his knife because he was non-violent, but because he wanted the prophecy of his arrest to be fulfilled. He did say he did not come to take away one jot from the Law, and the Law does say, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I think you can love your fellow man even as you stop him from misbehaving, using necessary force. And the NIV does reveal that the correct translation of the commandment is "You shall not murder," not, after all, "Thou shalt not kill." Big difference.

As for militias, some of them are started by smarter people than others. I'd like to stay away from the dummies, because dummies also get caught up in the KKK, racism, and various other bigotries and mistaken notions about everything from religion to government to the Constitution. I've heard almost as much misinterpreting of the Constitution as I have of the Bible, and that's a lot. You can find a rationalization in there to back any nonsense. I suppose if pressed I would say I regard myself as a militiamen because the Bill of Rights says so, whether I'm in a club or not. But it might be nice to get involved in organized excercises, practice runs, defense and fitness programs, as well as survival training. Most comfortable Americans are woefully ignorant about surviving without their conveniences. I don't think that's an overstatement. But I'm also of the opinion that the word militia will almost inevitably attract unpleasant attention from paranoid government law enforcement entities. There is paranoia on all sides of this issue, but some have more power than others.

Don't think those Delta boys take kindly to people claiming "they're Delta" when they're not - they call 'em "wannabees". Imagine they'd remove more than the "judge's" robes if they ran into him.

I am quite psycotic and paranoid to be ,penhaps you are the one who wants to meet the boys one day and have some buds and drop cats from tall buildings and bridges.....

That is if they dont drop you first...... Why waste a good beer ?

Of the original 500 only a few remain ,the current delta is not what it was and never will be,in a sense it was an experiment that failed.

Ever seen Universal soldier movie?, something like that, exept real quite similar in deceit treason and murder.....

Aparently you need to reread the stuff at www.ou-research.com and stop idiotizing yourself with CNN and FOX news and cheap books.

For your information it only takes ONE delta to wipe out a city or one to plan and do a 911 (And if you see TV news you know there was one) no way an idiot like Bin Laden or any NON-USA trained can pull Something like that.

Open yourrrr eyessssss!!! (Total recal style )
