The a--h--- Newdow, has now filed a suit against the Oath of Office of the president. The prayer prior to the swearing in, anything in reference to God or relegion.

I quess maybe I aint to smart but READING THIS:

Congress shall make no law as to the ESTABLISHMENT of a relegion, nor the right to practice .

I have blown this up to see if there are any hidden messages , but can,t find a damn thing that states, that the church and state shall be seperate. or where it says it is UNCONSTITIONAL to refer to GOD.

This as-h--- is the biggest hypocrite, "Dont force your belief on me. but damnit, I am going to force mine on you"

Plus the fact he blatently lied about his daughter, He should be charged with, false statements, and perjury, and sent to the slammer

I agree completely. The guy brought the court case under false pretenses. There was actually NO injured party. He's just looking for some fame and fortune, Kalifornia style. He should be locked-up and forced to pay all related court costs.

Refering to GOD is not endorsing relegion, just acknowledging that there is a Higher Being or a creator, under which this country was founded.

Now if you said "One nation under the catholic god, or Baptist God, or Islamic God," you would be endorsing a particular religion.

And the word ESTABLISHING means Starting or creating a government run religion.

When the founding fathers, left england (England had a government primarily run by the church,) and not by the people, they saw fit to make sure the samething didnt happen here, CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW AS TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION by the government. but has all rights to the free practice of religion

Saxon quote:Well, the argument is that any reference to God by the government constitutes establishing a religion by making one religion appear to be sanctioned by the state. You are free to disagree with this argument, but that's the thinking.
Doesn't the absence of any reference to God also constitute establishing a religion? Athiesm is nothing more than the religious belief that God does not exist and thus a religion in its own right.

I hope I can make the impression.I agree with I wont see your point but your gonna see mine.Seems a bit communist if you ask me.

What it is that makes me so damn mad is the Hypocricy,

"Dont force me to listen to your religion, but allow me to force my opinion on you"

I respect the mans right not to practice religion, or the right to practice whorship of the Devil, just dont push your minority view on the majority, and try to change something that has been the cornerstone of our countries development.

Back in the days when the 1st amendment barred congress from establishing or prohibiting religion, the first amendment meant something. Now that the Federal government has decided that they will decide what and how we can exercise our rights(something that they were originally prohibited from doing-these were decisions that were left to the individual states to decide)the first amendment is meaningless. The 1st amendment started as barring congress from getting into religion, and has been contorted to mean that it allows the Federal government to bar religious exercise. Talk about Orwellian double speak!!! An amendment that is supposed to bar congress from getting into religion, prohibiting or establishing, is now used by the Feds to dictate how and when we can exercise our religious beliefs.

No matter how you slice it, when the government says "God" it is endorsing one religion over another. I see nothing wrong with leaving religion in the church, the home, and to the individual while keeping it out of government.

The fact that it is "unconstitutional" should indicate that there is something wrong.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

    The Liberal Golden Rule:

If I dont like it, and cant think of when I would personally use it, then it has no place in society and needs to be banned immediately.

Do yourself a favor and look up religion in the dictionary. There are several definitions, one being "a strong commitment or belief". Under that definition religion is not tied to a god or gods and atheism can also be considered a religion. To understand this portion of the constitution you have to look back at how the European countries were being ruled. The Church was a major political faction at the time. Our forfathers wanted to avoid the church being a political influence in this country. As I see it the same law that says Congress can not establish a religion SAYS they can not prohibit it either. Even within their own structure. So if a vote of the people says they want a religious word or phrase within the government structure Congress Can Not prohibit it.

How does one "file suit against" an Oath? Do you have a link about this supposed "suit"? What court has this suit been filed in?

And is calling other people "a**h***s" now considered to be "good Christian behavior"?

All the hypocrites and mean spirited people in religion was one of the driving forces that initially made me seek (and find!) a more rational philosophy to live by.

Thanks for the reminder on what "sixth century mysticism" can do to the human brain...

Next they will file suit to prohibit public servants from attending church and try to force everyone to be atheists.
