Anyone ever had a safe broken into?

Hi Folks,
I'm in the process of fortifying a room in my house to act as a big safe. It isn't as good as a safe, but better than nothing. (My stuff is stored elsewhere right now for security.)
So, anyway, has anyone ever had a regular safe broken into? I'm wondering just how good they are. I've seen one company that will replace the safe if it is broken into.

NO! You may not have my guns! Now go crawl back into your hole!

There are a multitude of inexpensive electronic devices on the market that could supplement any safe or gun room. Motion detectors, alarm systems that ring in automatically to police or security firms, video cameras, or the tried and proven "dog" method. Of course if a bad guy takes one of your family members hostage until you open the vault...you will probably open it in exchange for a loved one....Theft is one thing, but fire protection is something else....plan for both worse case senarios.
As for opening safes, yes the day of the old safecracker listening to tumblers fall into place is almost a dead breed. The new safecrackers use modern technology to open them today. There is information out there as to where to drill a safe and using fibre optics watch what you are doing from the inside. The only reason I have heard of this is my brother is in the military and travels across the country opening safes using this type of method. One thing he has said is that he may not get a lot of use from this training in civilian life. So safecracking is still out there it's just that they use different methods.
If I knew then, what I know now.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
The sound of a 12 gauge pump clears a house fatser than Rosie O eats a Big Mac !
Have guns,will travel
Good Luck.
