Are there any higher-cap magazines that fit in the xd9? Will the pre-ban springfield 9mm mags work? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

C.J.

The factory mags for the XD40 (.40 S&W) will hold 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and they are a perfect fit for the XD9, no alterations needed. They are also legal - we had this discussion in another forum www.hs2000talk.com (great site for the XD and HS) and one member sent in a letter to the BATF to ask if using the XD40 mags was legal - they wrote back and said it is. (Any magazine can be used or modified to be used in another gun as long as it still functions in the gun it ws designed for)

Also, Beretta 92 mags apparently work in the XD. Springfield Armory itself was selling surplus 92 mags for the XD - they said that they only thing was that the base of the mag sticks out sligtly from the grip. I'm not sure if these require modification, but if they do, the only modification required is drilling a small hole - I think. Anyway, you should check out the HS2000 site, and do a search - lots of great info.
