    Glad Tennessee has the CCW!

I used to live in Nashville, and the only way you could legally carry was to be a Deputy Sheriff. Fate Thomas was the Sheriff then, and Buck McPherson the Chief Deputy. By pulling some strings and paying some money I was able to get a commission. I had to be bonded, and pay yearly to the bonding company which I later found out was owned by the Sheriff! He eventually got busted for various crookedness and ended up in the pen, and our commissions were worthless.

Nashville is a pretty dangerous place, especially around Music Row where the tourists congregate - and many a music business person carried without a permit. The muggers are out there and waiting for a prospect!

Gee...........I always thought NJ issued the most permits. I'm sure somebody must have one.

I relocated to Eastern TN from Western NY. Like night & day as far as gun rights/laws. Was shocked to learn I needed state permit only to carry, not simply to own a handgun, and that I don't have to go down to Pistol Board office every time I sell/buy new gun to have s/n recorded or removed from permit. After NYS, TN is heaven. Kinda like "freedom". I'm stayin.

I heard that the Schnucks Food Store chain is expanding to Nashville from St. Louis. There already are emails going to Schnucks. Seems that they contributed $25,000 to help defeat CCW vote in Missouri. They can't wait to boycott the stores. Hope Schnucks looses a bundle.

Like in the NFL, defense is the key.
