Need some help here please.
1) What is the purpose/reason for a topic lockout?
2) Can you put a quote @ the end of your messg. that will come up every time u post? Or do u have to type it in?

Only have a few posts under my belt so I sure need this and any other help you give.
Thanxs in advance.

On the General discussion board, the usual reason for a thread being locked is that it has gone way off topic and become more of a flame fest rather than a discussion. When tempers start flaring and not-so-nice comments start flying, a thread gets locked...If it gets too out of hand it gets "poofed"

To have a quote appear everytime you post, just log in and access your profile. There is a section there to add a signature. You can put whatever you want (within the limits of the forum) and have it show up everytime you post.

    hope this helps

    Alex,
Thank you very much. Boy if u shoot like u reply i'd hate to be your target! This type of response is the reason I came to this board in the first place. The flames got so bad/vulgar on one big name site that I rarely go there anymore. I recommended this forum to an e-mail pal in Vancouver B.C. He left the other forum for the same reasons I did. If anyone else has some knowledge that they want to pass on please don't hesitate.
    Thanks again.

    flatdog;
quote: 2) Can you put a quote @ the end of your messg. that will come up every time u post? Or do u have to type it in?

    a) Click on Profile in the upper righthand portion of the page.
    b) Sign In.
    c) Type your message in the block marked "Signature".
This will put your message in every time you post.

Also in "Ask the Experts" a thread is locked after 10 posts.

Just a add-on to the lockout answer In the "experts" forum they tend to lock the topic when they get 10 or so replys.

    Hey otoman & smokingun:
Glad to be aboard.Sure are alota dogs on this board. But i'm the only flat one! It's the nickname given to the Zambezi croc by the people that live along its' banks. Needless to say there ain't lots of round/fat ones around where the flat ones are.
    FYI:QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER (BUCKET SHOT)
If you have the DVD go to SCENE # 3(A CERTAIN MARKSMAN) in the special features menu.
When Quigley makes his first shot on the bucket you can see the bullet in flight up to bucket impact. Go to slow forward and you can pick up the bullet as it's trajectory crosses the window of the short house to the left of the long ones.
I submit for your approval, that someone did some real life benchrested shooting off camera. Can't confirm this yet but i'm trying.See what you think.
