Went flying today, it was nice

It was so good to be back in the air. It was cold and the airplane performs very well in the cold. I wanted to get on top of some scattered clouds due to the rough air below them and aimed the nose for the stars.
My little Cessna was climbing at 1100 feet mer minute right up to 6,000 feet when I shoved the nose back down. It is awesome being on top of the clouds, glimpsing the ground between them. I flew over two hours just tooling around looking at God's beauty. It was so much fun I plan on flying tomorrow evening again.
Thankfully the heater off the Lycoming 0320 D2J's exhaust kept most of the chill away. The air temp was zero at 6,000 ft. At 120MPH that is a hellofah wind chill factor.

Don't be stingy with the view! [:D]
and a full moon. Very cool! Did it once in my 140 and will never forget it.
How about a video, Bruce?

Actually I did video the flight on top of the clouds today with my iphone, email me your cell phone number and I will send it to you!
If you ever get the chance, go flying at night with snow on the ground

I am waiting for that chance. The last full moon was way to windy to be up flying and the cloud deck was a bit scary for a VFR pilot.
I used to fly a lot, hang gliders and ultralights, and I really miss it.

I took a few rides with some pilots when I was working at an FBO in NY.
One of the guys took me up in a Cessna for a bunch of "touch and go's? "
He could drop that plane right over the tree tops and down on the numbers at the start of the runway.
