A real man would just dunk it in a bucket of water and start all over again.

If I owned a machine gun it would be a belt fed water cooled WW1 model- either Vickers or Maxim. So I could shoot it as long as I had ammo and not have a problem. [:D] I agree though, this vid is disturbing... I would never abuse something I own like that, esp. if it costs so much money.

I would not treat it this bad.

and I'd not shoot it from the hip with nothing but trees as a back stop, although I don't do that with semi auto or single shots either. [xx(]

Why didn't he dunk it in some water? That just seems foolish to let it burn for that long. I mean, I know AKs are inexpensive, but why damage your gun just to make a video?

And it's not like it's a GLOCK for cryin' out loud!!! [:D]

No, but a non-wood stock would. I think they make polymer AK stocks that would not ignite like that. His buddy, who owns the gun, probably went to get burgers so he thought it would be cool to piss away all the ammo and burn up the gun. Total bafoon.

What really disturbs me is he didn't have a table to put the magazines on.

i have seen a military testing video on a brand new m4 by running 1000 rounds through it and the gas tube catches fire, then the hand guards. The gun is locked in vice and simply fed ammo until it burns up.

I guess someone gotta do it.

For some reason, I have these nagging doubts that THAT is a papered, transferrable AK.............

since the last one of those is saw was about $14,000.

The wood guards will typically begin to char at around 200 round and catch fire at about 400. He is using drums so he is feeding more ammo through the rifle then it normally would handle using standard 30 round magazines. Polymer guards will usually have a metal liner to keep your hand from burning but they will deform at about 300 rounds of full auto fire and melt at around 500. A metal hand guard with a foreword pistol grip on an AK rifle (not the RPK which has a heavier barrel) is the only type that can really handle a lot of excess heat.

Does something seem off with that AK? The recoil and rate of fire doesn't seem normal, and I don't see shells coming out. Compare to this vid...

Also it isn't kicking up that much dirt; maybe a full auto pellet gun?

I agree. You see absolutely no brass being ejected. Also the sound it not right for an AK.
Remember the AK has a distinct sound when fired upon you.
The recoil of it does not seem right either.

"This is an AK47, the favorite weapon of your enemies and it makes a distinct sound when fired upon you!"

The AK in my link is kicking up too much to just be a pellet gun IMHO. Maybe it's an AK74 or .223?

Your right, its a real AK. At the end of each magazine you can see him recover from the recoil by pushing forward. Also, check out the muzzle flash on the last mag, thats not a pellet or airsoft gun. The brass is hard to see, I did see some, due to lighting, distance from the camera and color of the background. Pretty sure its a 7.62X39 gun because I dont think they ever made the drum mags for 5.56 guns.
