i know why the Rossi M92 rifle breaks firing pins and how to fix it.
Comments
I disassemble it and smooth the action.
This past one (a 357) I took it a part,
did my thing and the locking lugs keep
binding up to the point of having to tap
them down a 1/4 inch with a plastic hammer
so I can open the action.I can't for the life of
me figure it out.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Ron
Have any of you people d&T for a receiver sight
on one of these rifles?
If so any tips?
Thanks---Ron
Rossi during recoil and I can't seem to locate
how it's held in with the manual installations.
In fact it is not included in the Parts List
Thanks-Ron
PS-I'm not feeling good about my new purchase.
It just sours me when a "wardrobe" malfunction
happens in the first ten shots with a new gun

Ill try to get by the smart As on here,Ive read some posts where the Rossi has a lot of firing pin breakage. My Rossi had a broken firing pin tip.Not many shot were fired. You wont notice the problem unless you are cleaning the gun and see the tip of the pin slide out.I got a new pin from Interarms. When I put the new pin into the bolt it was a very tight fit.A strong light and a magnifying glass prove that the firing pin channel was bored from 2 directions. There was a bad offset in the tip area. You could see it and feel it with a dental pick.I opened up the hole until the new pin moved freely. The old pin tip was being bent at every shot. With a broken tip the piece could fall out at a time when you really need the gun to fire.Stand the rifle on its butt and cock the hammer. The pin should drop down.Take a pencil and push the pin upward,it should move freely with no binding. You can replace the pin many times and have it break again and again.I have a newer Rossi in the box that shows the same problem. There are 8000 rifles built between the two so Rossi makes the same mistake over and over.Rear sight dove tails not cut at 90 degrees to the barrel are common on the M92 .The same problems is showing up on Rossis new Marlin copy. The M92 is a nice rifle and would be a lot better with some quality control.Tried to put this info on the site where the reports of multiple broken pins were posted. The password had to be 8 digits long, have upper and lower case letters plus numbers.I shut the computer off.

What's the deal? Mine has had loading gate problems but no probs with firing pin.
.No loading gate problems on 3 rossis Ive had but the loading gate could be a bit too long or poorly tempered.
Next time post the solution with the statement and the smart comments will be much less.

I once posted about a speaker's colloquium on Federal Judgeships, how about you? By mistake, I kept calling William Rehnquist, William Reinquist, by accident. Imagine my embarrassment! [:0][:o)]

It can be really fun around here...........Maybe[:D]BTW what else can you fix, I have a broken toilet Can do that, always kept my guns in repair since the mid 50s,Did work for others before 1968.Still sell parts and reloading dies.I figure some of the smart as must have Rossi rifles for sale at 500 bucks each.My Rossi has a chamber that looks like it was reamed with a dull spoon.Winchester should have built some new 92 rifles, they would have been a lot better quality.
I have an electric train.
I like pie ........ and trains. [:)]
Any reason for dusting the mold off this one and taking a bite?
