Unloaded Weapons

Could not believe it when I heard that in the New York and New Jersey airports that Military Security are not allowed to have ammunition in their weapons. According to the news release this is due to liability if they shoot an innocent by stander.

For some reason I have difficulty with this policy. Even more difficulty that the press is able to release such information.

i thought that defeats the whole purpose of having "armed" guards protecting me from terroists. Whats the guard going to do now? Throw his m-16 at the bg? Retarted, simply retarted

Retarded is putting it mildly. It seems the gritted teeth the Bush administration once displayed has turned into a goofy looking grin. They may as well give the guys clubs as they would be more effective. And why on Gods green earth would you let it be publicised that they were unloaded. Just plain foolish. Same goes for not arming the pilots, its rediculous. Its the same kind of beurocratic b.s. that happened on and around Dec. 7th 1941 and caused the loss of so many men and women at Pearl Harbor. When will these fools wake up.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

When I heard that I thought, what do I need to know they are not armed for. I am sure terrorists all around heard that one. What's the point of having a gun with no ammo? Are the gaurds not trained in the use of a weapon? I dont mind accedently gettin shot or killed if someone is takin over a plane ar an airport. Thats the price of freedom. At least I died free! I dont go anywhere I cant bring my .40 which suks because I have to pick a freind up from the airport this week.

    Just my 2 cents

C'Mon, now! Remember your Gun Safety Basics? OKAY Then, "There is no such thing as an UnLoaded Gun! REMEMBER????

A Month or so ago, one of these M-16 Gun Racks in one of the Nation's Airports was going off duty and handing the weapon off to another Gun Rack when there was an "Unintentional Discharge." Thankfully, No One was injured, however, the "loss of pride" was tremendous as was the Dry Cleaning bill for those in attendance! Those in control vowed there would never again be such a Cleaning Bill.......and I guess there won't if what's written here is true....!!

News Media? Well, given all the talk they are capable of certainly makes me think "we are safe as can be!" Anyone know what the word "PROPAGANDA" means?........... Go figure!

Well now that the terrorists know they don't have to worry about getting shot, I wonder what they'll do...

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Perhaps a warning from the national guardsman, telling people to drop to the floor, will give a clear shot of the perp. We,as citizens need to learn how to live under, and respond these new situations.

An unloaded firearm in ones hands is a club,on a table it's a paperweight

Anyone ever thought that this just might be a ploy to lull a terrorist into a sense of false security?

I hope so, but probably not.

Soundguy response reminds of an email I recieved just last week. It is called "Shopping in Israel". Short video clip that shows a woman examining a stoppered bottle, and there are another 3 females, and 3 males also in the store. Woman examining bottle pulls stopper out of bottle causing a popping sound. All persons in the store (except the woman examining bottle) drop down and draw their concealed guns.
It is a great video clip and if I find a link to it, or someone can post it so a link can be posted, I think you would enjoy.

    Okay everyone!

I found the clip on the internet and, since I don't know what kind of load that server can handle, I posted it to the files section of my humor mailing list.

I have changed access permissions so you do not need to be a member of my mailing list in order to download it. The clip is about 1.4 megabytes.

SaxonPig--That is exactly the condition in which the Army's MP's are carrying their M9's while on duty. You'd be surprised at how little military personnel actually know about firearms beyond how to insert a magazine and chamber a round and I'm just speaking of the ACTIVE DUTY folks that handle firearms regularly! Most of our airports are not being secured by active duty personnel. As much as I hate to admit it, this knowledge actually makes me feel more secure.

I know I'm going to take hell so fire away.

At the very end there are a few frames that explain the situation:

    shop on-line
    it's safer

It's an online commercial. I don't know what site it is for, though.
