This should make a hell of a long range white tail round.Anybody had experience with it?

    Just got done watching the Military channel ultimate sniper rifles. Had never seen the 6.5X47 Lapua round. Seemed very interesting to me, something that would be a great long range deer, antelope etc. round. Anybody have first hand knowledge of this cartridge? Did a little checking around and right now rifles and ammo are at prices affordable to only saudi princes. Maybe this round will gain popularity and someone like Remington would chamber it and make ammo so all could enjoy.

    It's a pretty neat round. Fast and flat. You could rechamber something to get this round and not have to spend the 4 or 5 k on a custom. I know a few guys that are shooting it and really like it. I was skeptical at first cause of the hype that comes off the military. You know, everyone has to shoot what the pro's are. But the more I see it the more I like it. I would also like to see it go production in some configure. Id like to try it on mid size game.

    All super flat and accurate ctgs., that appeal to very few. Will be interesting to see if this one fares any better.

    My favorite and most accurate rifle in 6.5 is a .256 Newton! [^]

    In Europe, it's pretty popular for people who reload - and have the will to create their own rifle.
    Or people shooting at long distances.

    Know of a few who have created an awesome rifle in this caliber, and reload for it.
    All get exceptional performance from it.
