Unless you have nimble fingers and the patience of a saint, I would advise against taking it apart. Try flushing it out with a solvent such as kerosene or carberator cleaner, and blow it our with an air hose(watch your eyes). If you are bound to take it apart, there is a screw head on one end, and a nut on the other. Hold the nut in with one hand, as it is spring loaded, and turn the screw out with an appropriate driver. It may be hex, or flat. Slowly let the end with the nut unwind. count the turns it makes, as you will have to re-wind it. pull it apart, keeping track of the location of the parts. clean it out with a solvent, dry it and re-assemble it in reverse order. It is a real pain to get the spring wound while holding the magazine together, but with patience you will eventually get it together. But once more, I would certainly advise you to either replace it, then you can play with the old one, or clean it without dis-assembling it. Luck, Dan

You are welcome! Read the instructions all the way through before you attempt to dismantle the clip! I printed out those pages, and since just about every shooter I know owns a 10/22, I've had to make lots of copies!

Take it apart. After you've done it once, it will be as routine as taking off the stock. They are quick to jam if they get dirty and the cut rate bullets we all shoot will foul a 10/22 magazine in about 1000 rounds.

Failing disassembly, take it to your local mechanic and let him put it in the carburetor cleaner.

Send it to the factory, claim it's misfeeds every 2-3 shots.
