Legislative immunity for lawbreakers

Didn't realize that most states have "legislative immunity" that prevents arrest of legislators while they are in session. Here's the one in Mississipi's Constitution. Something else that needs to be changed.
SECTION 48.
Senators and representatives shall, in all cases, except treason, felony, theft, or breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during the session of the legislature, and for fifteen days before the commencement and after the termination of each session.

Its supposed to protect legislators against being arrested while proposing unpopular bills.
But I've seen it used to avoid drunk driving charges.[:0][:0][:0]
