Anything involving heights. I have driven by the big glass buildings in downtown Dallas, and have seen the window washers way up there on their scaffolds and thought, "Man, I would never do that job."

But if you ask him, he would probably not want to do my job.

I would also not take any job that involved deception of the client or preying upon his ignorance or insecurity. There are lots of jobs that this would cover.

offeror--the packing house job does indeed suck. I worked in the kill pit for a bit. We didn't use hammers. We knocked em out with a stun gun (pigs). That is the job that I will never ever do again. I'd rather be a cook in the Army.

Years ago, unemployed, hungry, and nearing extreme poverty, an acquintance introduced me to another guy. Offer of $250,000 to bring a boatload of an unknown substance into the U.S., although interesting, was ignored, as I decided long ago, I will not be party to any type of drug related deals. I wondered what I would tell my Mom if I got caught.(wasn't married then, that's how long ago it was)Mom taught me better, and that's that.

I spent the summer loading hay bales in Wash. State. You southern hay bale tossers with those 55 lb bales, those are for sissies. The Washington bale goes 95 lbs. We had two fields of 110 lb bales, some kind of damn blue alfalfa. Try stacking 1000 of those, in one day, above your head inside a barn on a 90 degree August day.At the time I was thinking, God I wish I had another job. Anything. I could be Janet Reno's proctologist. I could clean out job jonnies. Anything.

When I was a pipeline welder, I was fond of saying that "If it was taller than picking corn or lower than digging potatoes it was out of my work range." Seriously, the dead wagon driver, or working in a rendering plant would probably be first on the list. Once I had to help install a boiler and the piping in a rendering plant. It was terrible!!! The smell would almost make us sick to the stomach. Second on the list would be a pulling unit or workover rig in the oil or gas patch. I can not think of a more oily or more nasty job. I have been up 150 feet in the air in a cage on a crane patching leaks and that did not bother me, but I do'nt know about climbing towers to change lightbulbs. Might not be so bad if the tower was big enough you could climb the inside.

A packing house or rendering plant wouldnt bother me since I have a very strong stomach and a very cold heart when it comes to dead critters, except cats, I have a very hard time killing cats. BUT, a fish joint is something I could not walk into. I cannot stand fish, cant touch them or handle the smell. I could not be a "Honey Dipper"(PA slang for septic and jiffy crapper cleaners), cannot deal with human waste. This will get some people started, I could not and never will work for any business that has union rep, I would go on welfare before I join a union. I won't turn wrenches again, been there done that and the pay sucks, unless you want to go to school 3-4 times a year. Other than those I would do just about anything that is legal and pays well enough to pay bills.
