If you have a sand/media blasting equipment company in your area, check with them for walnut shell or corn cob media.
F&S Equipment in Birmingham has 12/20 crushed walnut shell media for $21.00 per 50# bag. They also have corn cob, but I don't have the cost.
That is a LOT less expensive than ordering tumbling media. Hope this info helps some of you reloaders out there.

I get my crushed walnut from my local pet shop, real cheap.[:)]
Same here. It's about 1/3 the price.
After you guys tumble your brass, what steps do you take to remove the dust and residue?
i have a case/media separator. after tumbling, they go for a spin in that. then i just have dusty cases left after the media drops through to the bucket. i leave the cases inside the ball and a quick trip out to the garage and a blast with the air compressor dispatches the dust.
Great people to deal with .
the last time I bought walnut hulls from F&S it was $14.50 per bag !!
