Al Qaeda is wealthy - Saddam is willing to sell.

I think what needs to be more explicitly explained to the American people, and the Democrats, is that Al Qaeda is wealthy -- the money didn't all come from Bin Laden's family, it also came from the sale of heroin and various other sources, including so-called legit enterprises in the U.S. So assuming Al Qaeda sympathizers will make sure they still have access to their money as needed, let me ask a simple question. If Al Qaeda asked Saddam to sell them something, anything, would he refuse?

The answer to that question is one big reason why Bush is probably right about the need for regime change, and acting now rather than waiting for more provocation.

greetings, i see your point, but the old soviet arsenals are up for grabs at a far cheaper rate (million vs billions). then again iraq is a wild card, but so is iran, yemen, pacistian, even india and let's not forget n. korea. any of these might see it in their best intrest to sell weaps of mass dest to al queda. when standing on the mt as the king of the hill, you can see a lot of potential canidates to unseat you. problem is when you're mired in the wetlands up to the gluttius maximus in crocidilia it's difficult to assertain that your original postulation was to depleat the wetlands. respt submitted dads-freehold
