In a land where our freedom of speech, assembly, and liberty are supposed to be the most protected of our freedoms, we have those freedoms most often tread upon by those paid to protect them. Acts like this pepper spraying of a peaceful protest group are why the Police can't feel safe. They know that there are few out here who have not had their rights violated by the police at one time or another. They respond with fear to a crowd because they can't see who will attack them. They attack the weakest persons they can because they are truly cowards. If they were to attack anyone formidable they just might get hurt. Their tactics are self defeating but they fail to see that. These children who were attacked will grow up distrusting and possibly hating police as a result of their abuse. If one day one of these children should strike down a policeman that would be karma. That it is karma will not spare the child from facing the direst of consequences. There in lies the problem. The police are not held accountable for their actions. A police officer or any Government official that violates one of the laws he has sworn an oath to uphold should be held to the strictest penalty allowed. Not only have they commited a crime, but in so doing have violated their oath and the commision of their office that we, the people, have been paying them in good faith to keep. When an officer is slain we are supposed to feel bad for them. Why? When Osama bin laden attacked the US, our Government Attacked the people of Affghanistan. Did we feel bad for killing the Taliban? NO. They reaped what they sowed. If the police officers who are worth a damn would arrest and weed out the abusive and corrupt within their ranks instead of covering up for them they would notice they have nothing to fear from the public. Until they police themselves there are no "good" cops. They all know who amongst them are the Corrupt and abusive, to let them remain on the force makes them accomplices, and thereby equally guilty. I would weep no more for a slain officer than a slain mullah.
Comments:
I saw the videos, extremely disturbing material the LEOs were either
given LSD laced donnuts or had an overdose of mein kampf tactical motivation ,even makes me ashamed of ever being in the force.

I don't know much of this situation, but it is sad to see, in any case, children treated with such assault. We have the right to a peaceable protest, however; not while occupying private property. You must do it outside the property line.
Using a chemical against another is truly the same as beating, kicking ect.- "assault" and "excessive force" due to severe pain. How this is warranted is beyond the realm of common sense! The term "peace officer" is sadly no more! "Law Officer" doesn't fit well either, unless your talking about civil law instead of constitutional law.
Don't these officers know that they are Americans too? Do they realize, their family and freinds will suffer as well from their actions? Someday those officers will be retired and I hope they will have to go thru the same hideousness!
Yes- we need to take back "OUR" country and our rights, the longer we tarry, the harder it will be. Voting won't work-it must be by force!!!!!!

My first question would be why would anyone take a child to a protest?
Any parent that would take a child to a protest is endangering the welfare of their children. I have personally seen people use their children as shields from the gas so they could stone and yes shoot at us. I don't know the circumstances as to why they maced them to start with but I remember we had strict guidelines as to when and why we could do that in a crowd. There has to be more to this story. Lets don't make this yet into another Rodney King. Get all the facts first before you start putting the blame on someone.

I am not communist nor favor the system but the critic of the greedy corporations fall well in place of their fears, many sosialist advocates predicted that with the fall of Rusia to counteract the
valance of power US was going to be converted to a big corporation
    controled police state T

Sample: The "cure" for preventing fires is to log all trees
and sell the wood at a profit , try to go out and cutt your own tree to build a house you will be given at least 35Years for all the FEDERAL statutes you break ..... Only the FEUDAL lords get the permits from King George II to cutt all the wood down, who? knows
Robin Hood may set fire to all what is left of Sherwood forest to save it from the Beast?, Like the Celts burning the fields to starve
    the roman troops.

greetings, we have come to a sad state of affairs when the watchers see danger in peaceful protest. who can call this protecting the innocent, who can call this serving the public intrest ? the abuses that our fathers separated from england for are happening again, this time in the name of public safty. i saw this happen in the sixty's and the repurcussions are still being felt. irrigaurdless of agreeing or disagreeing with the reason of the protest, they still have the right to do so, unless we just woke up in an alternate universe... respt submitted dads-freehold

I've been gone for three days. Can someone please adise? I must have missed this somewhere if there is media coverage on please direct me to it. I've learned in the past 28 years there's always two sides to a story and sometimes cameras fog the issue. If the police were out of line they need reprimanded for they are there to PROCTECT. Were they protecting private property? What kind of protest? Were protesters told to leave and did not comply? Just some things that would help me form an opinion. It appears to be a public place.
