Sliced my finger tonight

Well it's been a while since I've last has stitches. About 8:30 tonight I sliced my left index finger with a brand new knife that I had just honed to a razor edge. I was shaving a peice of hard plastic in a way that wasn't too safe. It slid right through and I couldn't stop it in time before I hit my finger on the soft, tender side, right above the joint. I decided I wasn't going to go in for stitches, even though I probably needed a dozen. It was a 1" wide cut about a 1/4" deep and bled like a stuck pig for about 20mins. I finally got the bleeding stopped then coated it in superglue. All better now.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Do you hold the cut closed or leave it open while applying superglue?

when you are out on a boat in the middle of a regatta and the stupid skip wants the boat light so he's thrown off the first aid kit....you do what you can.
No, it is not that old. It was first used on cadavors by the funeral industry. I do hope the rumors of your passing are greatly exaggerated!
We spent a few hours that evening in the ER getting his fingertip sewn back on.
Having watched ER docs close small wounds with a clear liquid, I asked what it was. I was told it is a cyanoacrylate adhesive, just a medical grade of Super Glue. Knowing that, I would not hesitate to use Super Glue to close a small wound after cleaning it.
i think thats what i hate the most about getting cut the damn cleaning [:(!][:(!][:(!]
...but I'm a firm believer in alcohol...
