Good News for Dog Owners

Getting my Kal Kan dog food at Wallyworld, I saw Ol'Roy 50lb. bags with MADE IN THE USA on them.

I copied down the barcode to check it out.
Sure enough, it checks out to the US.

Now there's another option, but regardless of what the bag says, check the barcode before you buy, and use ALL 12 NUMBERS OF THE CODE.

that's funny, I never bought it because I swear it said "made in China" on it. maybe they got around that by putting it in the bag in the USA.

Busch, it USED to. All the Ol' Roy was made in the PRC. It killed hundreds of American dogs by destroying their livers. Walmart was sued.
It appears Wal-Mart paid attention. Dollar General still sells China dog stuff so always check the code.

My simple rule is buy or use no foodstuff made in China. Not even tea.

Ol' Roy dog food was named after one of Sam Waltons dogs.

Something about Walmart you need to know.

They use to have a disclaimer that basically stated. "Made in the USA" may not mean that the product is made in the US. Just the packaging.

    Scoop on Ol'Roy dog food.

Okay, Ol' Roy is not recommend by me because it contains menadione. That is a synthetic vitamin K and is what shuts down the livers.
I won't be buying any. I'll stick with the brands I know.

Feed your buddy Ol' Roy dry, and you'll slowly starve him to death.
There's not enough "food" in that crap to sustain life.
Pedigree canned is the same way.
Just try a 6-pack of Science Diet canned or a small bag of Nutro & see the difference it makes.
    There's a reason why Ol'Roy only costs $12 for a 50 pound bag; there's nothing in it!

I knew a guy once who said he fed his * hounds collard greens.
Astonished, I asked him if they liked collard greens.
"Sure" he replied. "After about a month".

Absolute trash food. Don't care where it's made, I won't feed it to my dog.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

It seems that even the most expensive dog food brands have had their various issues. We were advised to feed a new pup Diamond brand dry food by the breeder.

Started with it, but after about 3 recalls on the product I went back to buying good ole Purina One Lamb & Rice.

I have trusted Purina products for over 40 years.

Dog food ratings rank ol'roy at 4th from the bottom in a list of 20 worst foods. Describe it as not only non-nutritional, but borderline harmful.
