The trash Trump folks will grab at anything and twist it in a negative way.
Talk about a misleading headline.

Headline
quote:Melania Trump Orders Removal of Near-200-Year-Old Tree From White House
In the article
quote:Trump reportedly made the decision to have it removed after tree specialists determined ?the overall architecture and structure of the tree is greatly compromised

quote: ?Without the extensive cabling system, the tree would have fallen years ago. Presently, and very concerning, the cabling system is failing on the east trunk, as a cable has pulled through the very thin layer of wood that remains. It is difficult to predict when and how many more will fail.?

The article stated that an offshoot from the tree will be planted in place of the original tree.

I didn't see it being Twisted in a negative way. It explained that it was determined that it needed to really come out, and recommended by a professional that it be removed. And she made the decision to do what was recommended to her.

I just don't see any negativity involved in the article

I can see just by the headline that the first lady is to blame for removing a historic tree on the White House grounds.

The media is all too good at putting their jabs in place and hoping that busy readers will not investigate the rest of the story.

Nothing but anti-Trump propaganda aimed to keep our nation divided!

Actually I saw CNN wrote an article about this same issue. For once they actually wrote a very fair and informative article.

In it CNN actually noted all the efforts that had been previously made to save it. How Melinia had actually had an extensive conversation about it with several professional arborist and how she has already arranged for one of the seedlings from that actual tree will be planted in it's place as a tribute to continue the legacy from it.

Seems like Melinia, unlike many others in Washington, was able to see a problem, research the problem with informed advice of experts on the issue, and then made a decision to do what was best for the safety of those around it (i.e. media and aircrew) all while retaining some grace and dignity to the office of her husband and her own position as First Lady.

Could you have imagined what Hillary or Bill would have done? Ha ha!

Just tell the media that the tree is over 200 years old and probably involved in many racist slave hangings.[:o)]

Well, it seem to be a Newsweek article with a headline that implies that this is all Melania Trump's idea. In fairness to the majority of the media however, it is the only piece I have seen with that kind of lead-in. I have seen the 5 major Tv networks (Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS) report on it. All had a neutral, factual approach to how it was necessitated.
