thieves got us again at work. the only thing they took was about 1' of 1" copper on a couple brass fittings. the thing that sucked about it was it was the water service that came in threw the basement floor. so yours truly had to bust up the floor and put a coupler on and silver solder it. [:(!]

Maybe it is time to hire someone to provide security for job sites.

many years ago (10/11) some one broke into my barn, they put a stiff wire thro the top window ,threw the catch, got in & opened the door ,to get there haul of my copper heating tank,40/50lb, & some electrical switches & wall mounts.
i wired the place up by puting large nails in the middle of the walls, hung a nylon loop on the nails & passed a cable thro the nylon loop & added a plug into the mains, sure as snow is white , a couple of days later i found some hair above the window, on a bit of a scalp, looks like someone leaned thro the window, same trick to get in...ouch, never did find the owner , oh well!![:D][:D]

It was me, and if you leave your stuff lying around anymore, I'll take it too! #1 copper = 3 bucks a pound.

The price of copper is going through the roof. I was interviewing a guy who owns an electrical contracting company and he told me they have to lock copper wire up in a vault now, have even had wire pulled out of walls on job sites the same day it was put in.

Mp5, where did you put that new copper line in at again? You say you broke up the floor? Tell ya what, let's go down to the corner, buy a few rocks, and go back and steal all the line right up to the shut-off. Then we can sell it, buy a few 40 oz'ers and sit and laugh at all these idiots on GB who think we're for real![:p]

yea, i mean, we dont know this guy.
I don't know about you, but I woulda bet my life that he was serious and not joking.
I mean, don't all theives sign up anonymously online to taunt their victims?

Come on guys get real, it seems without DWS laying the sarcastic humor on ultra heavy like his flow at the end of the month(as luck always has it, he never plans ahead and ends up using thin pads designed for lighter flow), that you guys cant pick up on more subtle humor.

I didn't know these two knew eachother well in the real world, but I wasn't so stupid to beleive he goes around stealing copper.
