    These guys may make a believer out of me yet. After they win a fourth game, though. I remember the last time they played the Cards in the Series.

    OK, robo, I admit, the Red Army vodka is in the refrigerator, the shotglass in the freezer and the caviar on ice. Just sensible preparations in the event "The Impossible Dream, Part II" should have a happy ending, though. Kind of like a CCW - I never expect to use it, but want to have it handy "just in case."

    Bobby, in general, I agree with you. I do think, however, the Red Sox also have their hearts in it - how could anyone look at Curt Schilling pitching with blood seeping through his sock and think he was doing it for money? The guy will get his salary no matter what happens, just like the big money boys watching the Series on the tube in the greater NY region.

    Robo, my landlord just dropped off another ten pounds of oysters . . . guess I'll have to break out the vodka before the game starts, anyway!

    Sorry Bobby...The players, sponsors, networks, only get paid for the first 4 games. Players get the same amount whether the series goes 4 or 7. Sponsors are charged the same whether it goes 4 or 7, so there is no real incentive to "sandbag" and go for more games than 4.

    Hate to say it but, The Cards are TOAST

    ps. I won't be disappointed when the Red Sox win, though. Then their fans might SHUT UP about THE CURSE!
