Well I went yesterday and used the glock 17. I need practice. Alot of practice. I kept getting hung up on reloading. I had 4 15 round mags as I was told. One in the gun and one round chambered. I first tried to just try and beat the clock and did but shot very poor and still had alot of time left on the stop watch. I then tried to slow down to get better shots and I did but came to close to running out of time. My best round came when I only finished 49 shots in 60 seconds but scored pretty high. I am going to keep trying to improve in time at the pace that I was shooting then and will see how thing turn out. Will keep you updated.

If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.

glad to hear the practice sessions are going good. I would bet that if you got the reloading down...you could probably finish the 60 rounds at the pace you were going.

keep us posted, and lots of luck.

greetings, first off which eye dominance are you? you can check this with forming a trangle with your fore fingers and thumbs. now focus on any object aprox. 10 feet away with both eyes open and the object being centered in the triangle, now close one eye, if the object remains in the triangle the open eye has dominance.now with your dominant eye only point to the object with your strong hand useing your index finger, note the angle of your palm in relation to the floor, also note the angle of eye to hand. now what has this to do with accurate shooting? first the weapon must be an extention of your arm. to modify your postion in relation to the weapon is notcorrect, but rather the weapon in relation to you for it to become an extention. accuracy is natural if you don't fight it.don't fight the clock either, it will take an average of 3sec's to eject old mag , insert new and jack the slide times three thats 9 secs leaving 51 secs

greetings again, got cut off. with 51 seconds to fire 60 rds. try and hold your breath for that long and you'll see how long those secs really are, seems like an eternity. respt submitted dads-freehold

Don't shoot the gun dry. Count your shots and when the last round in the mag chambers drop the mag and insert a fresh one, Good Luck

John is right, if you don't shoot the gun dry, it should only take 1 to 1+1/2 sec to reload leaving about 55 sec. for 60 shots. Watch your breathing, the tendency is to hold your breath while shooting. Try to work a rhythm of shooting and breathing, for example - take a deep, quick breath, shoot 7 shots while exhaling, breathe again, 8 more shots - reload and repeat. You will need to load 16 rounds for the 1st string so that you never shoot the gun dry. Good Luck.

Counting your shots all the way to sixty is a bit unusual for a defense drill but in this contest makes very good sense, because you should never have to lose time with a locked back slide. Very, very good idea. I'm sure few people would have the presence of mind to count shots in a hi-stress assault situation, but for a one-minute contest it's a heck of a smart strategy (as long as one doesn't lose count -- I speak of myself when I say that....). I assume this comes up in competition far more often than in "practical combat" runs.

How do you shoot a semi auto dry without releasing the slide lock? Doesn't your slide lock open after the last round is fired? I know mine always do...If you squeeze and don't hear a bang, drop the mag and slap in the new one and continue.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

count rounds and when the last round is chambered you change the mag and then fire that last round from the first mag.
