Any leather workers here?

Had my wallet stolen last week. Aside from all the headaches / costs or replacing plastic, ID & etc., truly the biggest loss was the wallet itself. I've only seen the design in a store once - 35 years ago - and I look every time I'm near a leather goods establishment. I've had four replacements made using the previous edition as a model. I've spent quite a bit of time in the last few days trying to find someone who can & will make a wallet on a custom basis without much success. Anyone here interested or know of someone who would be? I can supply dimensions and a crude (by most standards - advanced given my skills!) sketch of the design I wish. It really is not at all complicated, just different than the run-of-the-mill design and probably simpler to make.

Know anybody in prison!! Sorry, maybe someone that works in one. I have had several custom wallets, holsters and gunbelts made with quality work and very cheap prices.I had a custom armoire made with walnut and cedar and custom knobs. It cost 1500 bucks total. It was done completely by hand and took 6 months. I paid the inmate $100 for his labor. Was appraised at $6700. Most take great pride in their work and well, do have plenty of time to spend.

dandy, thanks for the idea! I'm sure it would not have occurred to me. I know the State Prison has a crafts program & will contact them.

he does excellent work, he made all my holsters, id wallet, belt and he has made cigarette cases for a guy I work with, he made him a custom shoulder holster specifically to fit his S & W 9mm...have had no complaints.. as a matter of fact, the guy now wants an ID wallet similar to mine

    Iconoclast,
I have an industrial sewing machine but I'm still learning to use it. I wouldn't want to commit to making one. I would like to see the design though. I have never found a wallet I really liked. Maybe yours is what I'm looking for.

snarlgard - **THANK YOU** - will make the sketch & try to forward this weekend. Just installed new version of AV app & it is causing all kinds of 'fun' with my email apps & filters, so don't be surprised if this data is delayed.

woodsrunner, will be glad to send you a copy if you will send me your email (using the private mail icon if you don't wish to post it).
