Hi, I will be getting out of the Navy soon and going to work at a shooting range. Does anybody know which gunsmithing course is widely accepted and accredited?

Just wondering why there's no college classes for this. I'm interested in learning this trade, any ideas on where to start?

I finally get to post on here again. We moved and I lost andforgot my password and username so I had to browse back trough previous topics from a year ago. Now to my question are those at home learning courses on gunsmithing that you see on t.v worth it or is it better just to get some books and do lots of reading
    Thanks for your time.[:p]

AGI seems to be pretty popular.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

    HBHC -
    Welcome to the board!

There are only a few "real" schools for Gunsmithing. I bought the AGI video for 1911's and was un-impressed, it did give me a little bit better understanding of the gun, but not enough to attempt anything more than replacing parts and it wasn't anything a person couldn't do it they pay attention to how it came apart. I wouldn't attempt a trigger job, to flare the ejection port or any of the custom stuff ...

Kimber you are the man! I believe the Trinidad State program list by Kimber at tsjc is well respected.

The pink text is really hard for old eyes to read.

Hard for young eyes too He Dog! Where were you born HBHC?

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

I like the pink text it spruces things up around this dingy place.

Tjsc seems like a really good program, I was thinking about taking a couple classes this spring, just for my own amusement. Trinidad Co. is also a beautiful part of the country, it might make it hard to be stuck in a classroom with all the great places to go hiking. After being in the navy it might be a nice change........good luck...lazy

    Hi Everybody,
Thanks for your responses, I'll check out those websites and get back with you. I like pink alot, but when my post is in the shaded area, it's impossible to read, so hears maroon.
I picked my name because that's my husbands short description of me. I'm most always barefoot and I love guns and trucks. Deeper than that but you'll all figure that out eventually.
