Real Americans

I was overjoyed to see that nine real Americans are alive and well after their ordeal. So refreshing to see a good ending, for a change, and without all the cry baby PC counselling and support crap that usually comes after a crisis for those involved. The popular media and academia fail to recognize that real Americans are tough people, atleast in rural Pennsylvania.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

We celebrate a different group of Americans daily. These guys are heroes now because first they radioed the other 9 miners up the shaft to get out. The 9 miners who got out during the flood said they saw the water coming behind them like a wave, and heard a hell of a noise, and only just got out because luckily they picked an exit that wasn't already blocked by the crushing weight of the water. Then the 9 guys waited 3 days in the dark with their air running out thinking the guys up top were either drilling in the wrong place or not drilling at all. Then they wrote notes to their families. Then they came out one at a time, up 240 feet through a water-spewing 26-inch shaft in the earth.

On 9/11, there were a lot of other American heroes, and we've seen a lot more since. This past weekend, it was somebody else's turn. One trait of a real hero is humility. Got any?

How about a cup of you f***ed up?

HMMWV, I don't know what your point is but the "F" word on the poster in your reply is really offensive for people of a polite nature and who may have children who like to read or participate in this forum.

It is great to see the toughness of Americans(especially Pennsylvania boys!)shine through a potential disaster....REAL AMERICANS because they never gave up, because miners looked out for their fellow man, because the rescue attempt proceeded through many obstacles and succeded

    HMMWV...
NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION...that post was in very, very bad taste

It's a miracle they are alive. Maybe some of the more liberal thinkers need to be locked in a hopeless hole for several days. I bet they might even acknowledge there is a GOD in charge our daily lives.
I would imagine these fella's lives will have a different meaning from this point on. God, thank you for their deliveracne.

Hey HMMVW, do the board a favor and delete the post above. It is not necessary and unwanted.

I posted this on another topic but I will post it again. These fellas trapped that far down are damn lucky. It is a strong man who can be trapped and not drive himself crazy.Hell I go nuts if I cant get out of a bear hug..lol.They are lucky and their prayers as well as ours probably helped them get out in such high sprits. They are real men and real Americans for knowing the risk and still goig down there..TRUE BALLS!!..Let HMMV get his * down there trapped under 200 feet of soil and rock and see how he does.I bet his thumb would be pretty water lodged and pruned.Hats off to these miners.
