Looking for a rifle for a guy who isn't all that into 308 recoil. Would the AR Varmit gun give him a chance at 500 yard accuracy?

With good wind conditions (read, no wind!) I can hit a grapefruit pretty much everytime at 500yds with my 24" Bushmaster Varminter using just XM193. The "pretty much everytime" is me, the rifle will shoot much better than I can.

Mine works best (for what I like) at about 350-375. Anything beyond that 22-250 or 25-06. But thats just me.

    My 22-250 is a Do all.[:p]
