Well, that was a fun power outage! (not) Sure am glad I decided to get a generator! This couldn't have hit at a worse time, 90+ degrees with 80 percent or more humidity!
Now I need to figure out a way to get home from work faster if this happens again. It took me 3.5 hours to drive 52 miles on Thursday when the power went out.
I haven't read all the posts yet, but does anybody else wonder if this just gave the terrorists some great ideas on how to attack us next time and just how vulnerable we are?
I think we sometimes take for granted just how dependent we are on electricity to do even the most simple things!

Now about "giving the terrorists ideas"...when is everyone going to realize that if they WANTED TO, THEY CAN TAKE US OUT 6 WAYS FROM SUNDAY?????
You think they would do that???...come on...They have lived that way for years...you think we are giving them ideas...He** no...they already know how to do it....
You can't see me, my eyes are closed..

A respectful disagreement. "They" can torment us in uncountable ways. Just that fact alone is a torment, but what they can't do is take us out!
Admiral Yamamoto stated after the attack on Pearl Harbor that he feared having awakened the sleeping giant. How right he was!
You can tweak the tiger's tail any number of times without great damage to yourself, but one of those times the tiger will see no humor in the situation. Then you'll be dinner.
That's the other side to the terrorist game. There's a fine line that's fatal to cross. Continued success demands that they stay just short of crossing it.
