Dixie Model 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Revolver -- better known as the "Root Revolver" was originally manufactured by Colt from 1855 to around 1870 in total quantity of about 40,000. This faithful reproduction features one-piece European walnut grip, satin finish and blued steel frame. Round barrel is blued, 3 1/2" long. .31 caliber with broach rifling .006" deep, seven lands and 1-32" twist. Brass bead front sight, and V-notch in top of frame for rear sight. Five-shot percussion uses #11 caps and has .315" chamber diameter. Blued furniture with plain cylinder. 7 3/4" overall length and weighs 1 1/4 pounds. Nipples are 6mm X .75 (#NP1355). Recommended load is 10 grains FFFg Black Powder and .321 round ball with .31 caliber revolver wad. Manufactured by Palmetto (Italy).
