Ultrasonic Gun Cleaners?

Just started to re-load (mostly handguns) and was wondering if any body has used an ulrasonic gun cleaner, also could the ultrasonic cleaner be used for brass cleaning? Also what cleaning chemicals or other prepartions both commercial and home brew is any body using , any help would be appreciated for both the brass and gun?

Welcome to the forum. The last time I used an ultrasonic cleaner was in 1991. It was a commercial size/grade, twice the size of an average bath tub. We were using freon based solvent (TFE?) to clean cosmoline off SKSs. It was very effective. There are probably more solvent to choose from today and more user and environmentally friendly.

Buddy of mine uses one to clean his pistols from time to time. Works great. On brass as well.

We have an older one that WAS used for jewelry in the past....it works great, but you have to take the gun apart to get it to fit. These gadgets are more expensive than I realized when I stared looking into buying a larger one.

I've been cleaning brass and gun parts in a US for years, and it's the only way to go....
I clean the gun parts with plain old dish soap and really hot water.....
The brass is cleaned with Citronox and hot water and looks like new when it's finished.
